Searching for Contacts and Companies in Association DNA

LAST UPDATED May 28th, 2025 BY bizZone Coops

Association DNA offers three powerful ways to search for contacts and companies. Here’s how to make the most of each method:

1. Quick Search (Top Right Corner) – Fastest Option

Use the quick search bar in the top-right corner of your screen to instantly find contacts or companies.

What You Can Search:

  • First name
  • Last name
  • Company name
  • Email address

Tips: You can use partial names – full spelling is not required. Searching by email is especially handy for pinpoint accuracy.

2. Power Search (Advanced Search Options)

Navigate to Contacts → Power Search to unlock more detailed search capabilities.

Search by:

  • First name / Last name
  • Company name
  • City
  • Tags (if used in your system)
  • Custom fields (e.g., phone number)

Tip: Searching by phone number? Enter a full or partial number. Try different formats (with or without dashes).

Related Tabs in Search Results:

Locations: Shows if the contact is tied to a specific office.

Companies: Displays related companies when searching by contact data.

This allows you to jump between contacts, their companies, and locations easily.

Discovery Reports – For Targeted Lists

If you're looking for more structured search results or want to build a list:

Go to Discovery.

Select or create a prebuilt report (e.g., a Company List).

Filter by fields like address or other criteria.

Once a result is found, you can use Quick Search to jump directly into the related contact or company record.
